Children determine course heading on
Norwegian Dream
Over the years, I have
presented my Captain Cane's Pirate Treasure Hunt!
to tens of thousands of
children at birthday parties in the Boston area, as well as in
Southern California, at schools, day-care facilities, cruise ships,
camps, and other venues.
Some of the children who first became members of Captain Cane's
Pirate Crew
are now grown and have children of their own. I founded the
Royal Commonwealth of Pirates as Action Characters
in 1991 and have owned and
operated it continuously since that time. It is now the Royal
Commonwealth of Pirates, Inc. and is Boston based to
provide children's birthday party entertainment. While
others have emerged to try to imitate it, Captain Cane's Pirate Treasure Hunt! is
the original, presented by an award winning, experienced
entertainer, who also educates, and who is a real sailor
who holds USCG Captain and Masters licenses.
The adventure of Captain Cane's Pirate Treasure
Hunt! enables children to be swept into
the exciting world of
pirates, but into a world of good pirates. Good pirates who seek the
adventure of discovery, who
do no harm, and who are not frightening. Along the way,
children fearlessly 'become
pirates ' and learn that pirates have rules, that pirates work
together for their common
good, and that pirates share what they have. A basic message
is that smart pirates are
good.
Children also learn that a
compass is a direction finding instrument. Many children will
understand the fundamentals
of compass navigation after their first adventure with
Captain Cane's Pirate
Treasure Hunt!
Princess and Pirate Adventure! The
pageantry is all of the glittering loveliness
that the coronation of
a princess should be. The Crowns are Crowns of Goodness and
Glory, and the princesses
pledge to rule according to law, to exercise justice with mercy, and
to be of pure heart. They
understand that a Princess has a duty to be good. Then it's off on
their adventure to find the
Lost Crown Jewels of the Princess!
Captain Cane's Pirate
Adventure Cruise! Takes children and families out on the
ocean in a real schooner or cruise ship for pirate adventure and
fun. Children swear to be good pirates, and have all the fun of
other Captain Cane events-- pirate songs, treasure, magnetic
compasses and compass navigation, pirate tattoos and face-painting,
songs, and more. On a schooner, they can steer the ship! Haul the
jib! Eat a "worm" sandwich and drink pirate punch during an hour and
a half sail on a schooner that is shiploads of fun as we yell
'Arrgh!' to other vessels! This is an award winning family
entertainment.
On cruise ships families
cruise in the Caribbean on a cruise ship with Pirate Captain Cane as
their friendly pirate host. We have much of the fun of the schooner
and more aboard a beautiful cruise ship, and cruise to tropical
Caribbean islands where real pirates cruised centuries ago.
Captain Cane, a maritime historian for Norwegian Cruise Lines and
Royal Caribbean cruise lines, presents talks aboard the ship
on Pirates, as well as other maritime subjects.
It is my intent to provide
children with a beautiful, vivid, and magical experience, one
which they will long
remember in a special way.
